If you dig it, please spread the link around.

P.S. You may have noticed I rarely update this blog anymore. That’s because I’m working on a new site. If you’re curious about what we’re up to, however, we’re very, very active on Twitter and Facebook. You can also sign up for the mailing list to make sure you don’t miss anything (the sign up form is to the right, there).

AMERICA ADDIO Is Out! Plus, The Great Enemies List Downtime.

America Addio - Cotton Kingdom is out now on ENEMIES LIST!

America Addio’s incredible sophomore release, Cotton Kingdom, is finally available! Check it out in the ENEMIES LIST store now. All profits are being donated to Heifer International, an organization that fights poverty and hunger by providing useful and profitable animals to needy families. You can read more about their work over here.

I love, love, love this record. I listen to it constantly, and I’m really excited to see people’s reactions. You can preview the whole thing here (click on the individual songs to get the full-length preview). I’m listening to it as I write this and I have a huge, stupid grin on my face. So awesome.

In other news, you may have noticed that this website was down for an extended period of time. That’s my bad – I had no idea, when I started the whole process, that we’d be gone for three fucking days right before we were supposed to release a record.

In any case, ENEMIES LIST is now located at new servers with infinite bandwidth. That should improve our overall performance and uptime, as well as provide for the unexpected explosion of our proxy server, CTKVLT.COM, which is used by many people in countries with restrictive internet regulations (as well as high school students reading porn and Facebook).

If you sent me an email in the last few days, I did not get it.
Try sending it again – really. Also, let me know if you notice any lingering weirdness on the site.

Have You Emailed Us Recently? And new stuff on the way…

It seems our nifty, handy-dandy contact form as been broken for a while, and not sending emails where they’re supposed to go. As a result, I haven’t been getting emails if you’ve been sending them.

Instead of fiddling with the Form right now (I’m in the middle of finals at the moment), I’m just going to put my email out there. Email away.

It may take a while, but I do my best to get back to everyone.

As for the label: it’s been quiet, but I am nearing a point when my work load will drop off precipitously, and you can expect a lot of new stuff from us when that happens. Namely:

  1. A new version of the popular “Philosopher’s Kit” – buttons and stickers,
  2. New shirts! Restocking some old designs (more sizes) and getting in some awesome new ones,
  3. New music! This time stuff from Sleep In; we are putting together an amazing deal, lots of music in one package, and
  4. A new America Addio record, I’ve heard it, it is fucking ridiculous, we are so excited, and
  5. Even crazier stuff, I can’t talk about it, but I guarantee no one will see it coming.

So, let me finish out my finals, then the fun stuff can start.

Oh, by the way, did you know we have a Facebook page?

HOLY SHIT – New America Addio Songs

America Addio is almost finished with their new album, Cotton Kingdom. I can’t even express how excited I am about this thing, seriously. It’s been a long time coming.

Two new tracks have been posted – listen to them, and then download them, and then give them to your friends and tell them to stop sucking and listen to this band.

Quick Update

Just a quick update on what’s happening behind closed doors here at ENEMIES LIST:

+Deathconsciousness Vinyl are ordered and in production. We are also doing some tweaking on the sound to make sure the lo-fi recording comes across on vinyl (a much more difficult process than we assumed, but then, you live, you learn, I suppose). I’m excited for them to get here.

+Giles Corey recording is proceeding apace. In fact, it’s going really, really well. I’m very happy with how it’s turning out, but I have the sneaking suspicion that it won’t be received all that well, critically. Originally, I though of it as kind of a lo-fi acoustic, country-tinged Xasthur. It isn’t turning out like that; the songs have more choruses than a goddamned Broadway musical. It almost makes me uncomfortable, but when it comes to writing music the style has always been dictated by emotion, not outside consideration. That sounds a bit pretentious, I guess, but really it just comes down to writing what you want to write and not thinking too much about whether anyone else will like it…

…In any case, I’ve always thought of Deathconsciousness, Nahvalr and Giles Corey as part of a whole, the Voor Trilogy, as I’ve just now decided to call it. They all share certain lyrical and melodic touchstones, they share graphic elements, they’re all born out of a specific period of time and series of events. It’ll be a huge relief when the whole thing is done, though it’ll be a while, yet…

+M. Kestigian is still working on the upcoming America Addio record, but I’ve heard rough cuts and it is fucking amazing. Really. Next-level for him and for us as a label. I’m excited.

+Did you know we have a Twitter?
