We're Shipping Xasthur Now, Plus New Afterlives Record On The Way

No Fun. Not Ever.

We’re Shipping Xasthur Now, Plus New Afterlives Record On The Way

If  you pre-ordered Xasthur and are wondering where it is, not to worry – we’re packing as quickly as possible and getting them out the door.

Meanwhile, Will from Afterlives noted online that he is working on a follow up to A Ticking Clock I Couldn’t Stop, his incredible, now-sold-out debut. Enthusiastic members of the Last.FM community contributed potential album covers, which are too hilarious not to post here.

If you never got to hear A Ticking Clock I Couldn’t Stop, you can stream the whole thing on Last.FM.

By the way, please make more of these. This shit blew my mind.

Afterlives Sold Out, Mamaleek Songs, Plus No Fun Ministries

No Fun Ministries

That’s Will Barrett of Afterlives fame up there, along with the beautiful Samantha. You may have noticed that the Afterlives debut, “A Ticking Clock I Couldn’t Stop”, has sold out. That means it will soon be available in the store as a 5$ digital download. I’ll put it up as soon as I get a good digital transfer of it.

Mamaleek has a new artist page up, including two exclusive songs from their upcoming record, Kurdaitcha. This shit is incredible.

The “No Fun, Not Ever” shirts have been way more popular than we ever expected. It’s very gratifying to know that all of you are No Fun, just like we are.

I’d love to feature more shots like this one – pictures of the “No Fun” shirts in the wild. I’ve seen quite a few, so if you’d like us to feature your pic here, just shoot me an email.

Also, we are no longer taking donations for the FUCK CANCER Walk. More about how it went soon!

Quick Update

Just a quick update on what’s happening behind closed doors here at ENEMIES LIST:

+Deathconsciousness Vinyl are ordered and in production. We are also doing some tweaking on the sound to make sure the lo-fi recording comes across on vinyl (a much more difficult process than we assumed, but then, you live, you learn, I suppose). I’m excited for them to get here.

+Giles Corey recording is proceeding apace. In fact, it’s going really, really well. I’m very happy with how it’s turning out, but I have the sneaking suspicion that it won’t be received all that well, critically. Originally, I though of it as kind of a lo-fi acoustic, country-tinged Xasthur. It isn’t turning out like that; the songs have more choruses than a goddamned Broadway musical. It almost makes me uncomfortable, but when it comes to writing music the style has always been dictated by emotion, not outside consideration. That sounds a bit pretentious, I guess, but really it just comes down to writing what you want to write and not thinking too much about whether anyone else will like it…

…In any case, I’ve always thought of Deathconsciousness, Nahvalr and Giles Corey as part of a whole, the Voor Trilogy, as I’ve just now decided to call it. They all share certain lyrical and melodic touchstones, they share graphic elements, they’re all born out of a specific period of time and series of events. It’ll be a huge relief when the whole thing is done, though it’ll be a while, yet…

+M. Kestigian is still working on the upcoming America Addio record, but I’ve heard rough cuts and it is fucking amazing. Really. Next-level for him and for us as a label. I’m excited.

+Did you know we have a Twitter?
